Addison Roadshow (radio show) - about us
The Addison Roadshow is broadcast on Radio Skid Row (88.9fm)
every Wednesday from 10 to 11 in the morning. The show is hosted by Addison
Road Centre General Manager Ian Laird who brings years of experience as a community
broadcaster to the program.
The program is devoted to the work of all the people at the Addison
Road Centre - the artists, environmentalists, community workers, child care
people and people devoted to cultural activities.
The program started in June 2006 and has featured interviews
with many of the individuals and organisations at the Centre. More recently Ian
has broadened the scope of the program to include people outside the Centre who
are actively involved in the community - people from environmental, community
and other service providing organisations.
Each week Ian has a guest on the program to talk about their
work and their life. Artists come in to the studio to talk about their work
especially new exhibitions, people from the environmental and child care
organisations talk about their activities, programs and events. Talking about a
specific show or exhibition coming up or a new initiative is a good reason for
coming on the show. Guests are encouraged to bring in some favourite music to
play during the program.
The Centre is very grateful for the support of Radio Skid
Row in the production of the Addison Roadshow program.
