We
encourage all aspects of waste reduction, but focus in particular on the fun,
creative and safe re-use of commercial and industrial discards. We aim to
provide the community with affordable resources and to encourage their creative
use thereby emphasising the benefits of re-use in the context of waste
minimisation and resource depletion.
Our
warehouse at Marrickville is brimming with a huge variety of
re-usable materials including: wood, paper, cardboard, dacron, perspex,
polystyrene, rubber, various fabrics, tubes, theatre flats, props and much much more.
Craft
standards like PVA glue, air drying clay and pop sticks are also available as
well as creative toy-making kits made from reclaimed materials. You could walk
out with anything from a hat to a dinosaur.
We also
run creative hands on workshops promoting inventive ideas for using recycled
factory off cuts and over runs. Workshops are designed to meet craft and
education needs for pre-school to year 12 students, teachers, adult education
classes, community festivals, community and business planning and more!
We have
recently introduced a consultancy service to Reverse Garbage. Through this
service we provide advice and project management services for a wide variety of
waste minimisation services. Consultancy services we have provided include:
advice for the development of future re-use centres, publications to assist
re-use, clean-ups and other waste minimisation strategies, and the over-seeing
of alternative clean-up strategies for local government.
