Roomies - about us

Roomies is an award winning art group and part of the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre's Boarding House Project.

It has been a dream of this group to have an art space to access away from their art class and in their own time, fostering each artist’s individuality, artistic development and independence. The dream is becoming a reality.

Roomies, the name of previous group exhibitions, takes the tradition of boarding house roomies into a new space, where the roomies share their art experience. A range of artists from boarding houses and the broader community will be involved in the Roomies Art Space.

Roomies Artspace is an unfunded initiative of Newtown Neighbourhood Centre with assistance from Terry Cutcliffe, Addison Rd Gallery and Marrickville Sketch Club.

Roomies Artspace has blank greeting cards for sale to support our artist's next exhibtion. There are 6 different cards featuring artwork from the sellout 2006 boarding house artists exhibition for only $10!
